Laos Rules

Being a huge fan of King of the Hill I was really excited to travel to Laos to visit Luang Prabang the hometown of the shows Kahn Souphanousinphone. From thailand we took the extremely slow boat down the Mekong. The days were filled with slow boozey travel, and the nights were filled with stops in little towns that were set up to cater to the western tourist; Spaghetti restaurants and magic shakes.  Check out my other blog to see what toilets in Laos are like. When you gotta go

The Mighty Mekong

Along the way we stopped to drop off locals

Dinner our first night on the river in  pak beng. Rather than stopping and eating with the rest of our boat at a tourist restaurant, we kept walking up the hill and found a small restaurant filled with locals and a BBQ. how could we say no? this is some sort of sausage and BBQ pork.

What you can't see on the boat, is the crazy drunk dude that decided to jump off the roof into the Mekong. The boat may move slow but the Mekong moves VERY VERY fast!

Finally made it Luang Prabang, what a beautiful city.

Bike Riding in Luang Prabang.

Much like the smell of jasmin flowers reminding me of India, frangipani reminds me of South East Asia.
